What is the Enrolled Nursing Course?
The Enrolled Nursing Course qualification will provide you with the tools and training which you need to become an Enrolled Nurse in Australia. Also known as a Diploma in Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing) this course will provide you with the academic knowledge you need to be able to apply for entry in to a Bachelor of Science (Nursing) and become a registered nurse.
Once the enrolled nursing course is completed you will be able to register with the Australia Professionals Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

In order to gain admission to an enrolled nursing couses you will need to have completed the HSC or equivalent and have passes in Science and Maths.
Enrolled Nursing Courses – Adelaide, SA
In South Australia, the Diploma of Nursing is funded by the Government of South Australia’s Skills for All Initiative. It is a full time course which takes around 14 months and around 2 days per week are taken in the classroom plus study and assessments. Nursing students are required to complete 11 weeks of clinical placement in a variety of health care services.
Enrolled Nursing Courses – Brisbane, QLD
In Queensland, completion of this course allows the student to apply to the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an enrolled nurse.
Enrolled Nursing Courses – Sydney, NSW
In Sydney there is a scholarship program run by TAFE which is available at St George, Kogarah and Ultimo. Scholarship funding will cover the cost of the course delivery. Successful applicants will be required to pay the TAFE Administration fees of approximately $716.00 per semester.

In Melbourne, Health Skills Australia offers a nationally accredited Diploma of Nursing which will give students the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge to deliver high quality care to the public in a variety of health care settings, including acute, palliative, aged, rehabilitation, mental health and community care workplaces. This nursing course consists of 26 units and has a combination of theory and practical learning which will give you real life experience in nursing.

If physically attending a college is a challenge for you it is possible to study for a Diploma of Nursing (HLT51612) online. Online is a blended delivery program running for 18 months full-time or 24 months part-time incorporating online, practical and face-to-face learning. This program is Austudy approved.
